Your journal stays yours.

What EdgeJournal stores

Trades, notes, screenshots, accounts, goals, playbook entries, preferences, and checkpoint backups are stored on your device. Checkpoints you export are saved only to the location you choose, such as Files or iCloud Drive.

EdgeJournal does not upload this content to an EdgeJournal server because no EdgeJournal server or user-account system exists.

Exchange connections

Exchange connections are optional and read-only. When you connect one, the app contacts that exchange directly from your device to retrieve your fills, orders, positions, and related account data needed to build journal entries.

• Hyperliquid: the public wallet address is stored locally and sent to Hyperliquid's public information API.
• Aster: the API-wallet address and its scoped private key are stored in the iOS Keychain. The private key is never included in an EdgeJournal backup or export.

These requests are subject to the connected exchange's own privacy practices. EdgeJournal cannot place, modify, or cancel trades; transfer funds; or withdraw assets.

Data we collect

We do not collect data from the app. EdgeJournal contains no advertising SDK, third-party analytics SDK, cross-app tracking, or crash-reporting SDK. We do not sell or share personal information.

Permissions

• Photos: used only when you choose screenshots to attach to a trade.
• Face ID or device passcode: used by iOS to unlock the journal when you enable the optional app lock.
• Files: used when you import or export a journal, CSV file, or .ejj checkpoint.

Retention and deletion

Your records remain on your device until you edit or delete them. You can remove all journal data in EdgeJournal under More → Data management → Reset all data. Deleting the app also removes its local data, except copies you previously exported to Files, iCloud Drive, Finder, or another location you control.

Security

Local journal files use iOS Data Protection. Aster credentials use the iOS Keychain with device-only protection and are excluded from backups. Network connections use HTTPS. No security method can guarantee absolute protection, so keep exported checkpoints and exchange credentials in locations you trust.

Children

EdgeJournal is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
